Chapel Steel offers a variety of plasma etching options that include bend marks, weld lines, identification markers, heat lot and individual client part numbers. As a fundamental part of the steel plate fabrication process, drafting and marking plates was traditionally done by hand and on the fly. However, with modern methods, the advanced CNC controlled plasma etching system allows Chapel Steel to make a wide range of markings to be utilized throughout the production process. This advancement of automation allows for more precise bend marks and work points, the duplication of markings, and the numbering of parts.
Chapel Steel proudly operates a Kinetic K5000 machine providing precision plasma cutting, beveling, drilling, tapping and countersinking services. This high-volume combination machine increases efficiencies through single operation part finishing. Typical cutting and drilling applications include structural steel base and connection plates in addition to a wide array of project specific requirements. The Kinetic K5000 utilizes a Cat 50 spindle with 24 tool stations that allow Chapel Steel to quickly change tooling drastically minimizing processing downtime.
Chapel’s Kinetic capabilities include plasma cutting up to 2 inch thickness, oxy-fuel cutting up to 8 inches thick, and plasma and oxy-fuel beveling on a 10'x95' downdraft table. Additional machining capabilities include drilling up to 4 inch hole diameter, tapping up to 2 inch hole diameter, countersinking, chamfering, identification marking.
